Chef & Owner Laura Piper Bio:

Chef Piper had a humble start in the industry: As an eight-year old entrepreneur, she filled her Radio Flyer wagon with fresh produce from her family’s Chicagoland garden and sold it door-to-door to her neighbors. Her youthful ambition and love of fresh ingredients has never wavered.


Chef Piper’s education, talent, expertise and passion for food earned her positions at El Raco D’en Freixa (Barcelona), Gibson’s Steak House, Frontera Grill, Le Titi de Paris and Trattoria No. 10. In addition to winning the “Best Chefs America” award three times in her career, Chef Piper’s skills earned One North Kitchen & Bar a spot on the Michelin-recommended list in 2013 and the OpenTable Diner’s Choice Award in 2014 and 2015. Not to mention One North Kitchen & Bar was voted to have the best Mac & Cheese in Chicago.


Chef Piper still credits her palate today to the farm fresh ingredients she was raised on, resulting in the fresh and unmanipulated options on Stock and Ledger’s menu.
